La Palmyre Zoo celebrates 50th anniversary!

Created in June 1966, La Palmyre Zoo celebrates a big milestone this year: its 50th anniversary. A slice of life marked by the daring personality of its founder, Claude Caillé, deceased in 2011 after 45 years focused on building, developing and popularizing his institution that became one of the star attractions of Charente-Maritime and one of the most renowned zoo in France.

Birth of 2 golden lion tamarins

The arrival of a warmer weather and Easter holidays are the perfect opportunity to visit La Palmyre zoo and see the latest newborns! Among the births recently recorded, a pair of golden lion tamarins (Leontopithecus rosalia) who were born on March 13 after a gestation period of 130 days.
