IUCN REDLIST status
Yellow-breasted Capuchins live in groups varying in size from a dozen to more than 30. Active during the daytime, they live in the trees in tropical forests. Clever and curious, they are able to use tools (such as stones to break nuts) and get food in the trickiest situations (for instance, on a palm tree covered in thorns).
Their vocalisations include a wide variety of cries and sounds (groans, tweets, whistles, purrs).
Endangered because of the destruction of their habitat and being hunted for their meat and for the illegal pet trade, Yellow-breasted Capuchins now number less than 3,000 in the wild.
