Owl-faced Monkeys are so named because of their very distinctive markings.

Males are significantly larger than females. Newborns are yellowy-brown but their fur darkens over the course of weeks to become olive-grey at adulthood.

Owl-faced Monkeys are hunted for their meat by local populations. They are also endangered due to the loss and fragmentation of their habitat.
