Exceptional birth of two Amur tigers!
This birth marks a significant milestone for the zoo, as it is the very first litter for our pair who arrived last year, and also the first successful breeding in our brand new tiger exhibit.
Birth of a giraffe
On Thursday, March 12th, our 6-year-old female giraffe, Riva, gave birth to a calf. Born after a gestation period of approximately 15 months, the calf, a female, is doing well and has been named Justine.
Supporting the Dietary Transition of Our Chimpanzees
At La Palmyre Zoo, our great apes now benefit from a diet composed primarily of vegetables. The reason? To reduce sugar intake and, above all, increase fiber, in accordance with current nutritional recommendations for these species.
Departure of the Blue-eyed Black Lemurs
Après un dernier contrôle de santé réalisé par nos vétérinaires, notre couple de lémurs aux yeux turquoise a rejoint le Zoo de Mulhouse. Ce transfert, recommandé par l'EEP sous l’égide du Taxon Advisory Group des Prosimiens de l’EAZA, s’inscrit dans le cadre de la création de pôles de conservation européens destinés à relancer la reproduction de cette espèce extrêmement menacée.
