Capybaras are the largest rodents.

Well adapted to their semi-aquatic life thanks to their partially webbed feet and the high placing of their eyes, eyes and nose, Capybaras are excellent swimmers and can stay underwater for 5 minutes. In emergencies, they take cover in water. Their predators are Jaguars, Caimans and Anacondas.

Hunted for their meat and skin, Capybaras are dwindling in number in densely populated regions of the Amazon.
