IUCN REDLIST status
This very colourful little parrot owes its name to the Sydney suburb Rose Hill, where it was regularly sighted by the first settlers in the region.
Eastern Rosella couples mate for life and generally nest in holes in eucalyptus trunks. The young have yellow or orange beaks that turn creamy white at adulthood.
This species is widespread in Australia and New Zealand so is not endangered.
