IUCN REDLIST status
Impalas can jump up to 3m off the ground and 10m in length. When danger strikes, they leap about wildly as they flee in order to disconcert their predators.
Only males have horns, which can measure up to 80cm. For a large part of the year they form small herds and live apart from females, only rejoining them for the rut. Females give birth alone, often in the middle of the day, including in zoos.
