Both male and female Blesboks have horns.
 
In the breeding season, males can so fight so violently that one of them gets killed.
 
Females give birth right in the middle of the herd. Newborns are able to follow their mother just a few minutes after being born.
 
In the 19th century the species was exterminated in a large area of its geographical range and the population fell to around 2,000. But thanks to protection initiatives, numbers have risen again to more than 200,000.
