IUCN REDLIST status
In winter, Bar-headed Geese migrate from Central Asia to India, Bangladesh and Pakistan, crossing the Himalayas at an altitude of more than 3000m. When the weather gets warmer, they return to wetlands on the high plateaux of China and Mongolia to nest in large colonies.
They are easily identified by the two black stripes on top of their white heads.
